FAQ

What denomination is southway community church?

Southway is a non-denominational church. This means that we are a blend of many different backgrounds and traditions. While we do have distinctive practices that set us apart “as Southway,” we prefer to emphasize the unity we share with other churches thanks to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What should i expect as a guest at southway?

Our services are filled with music that is a blend of classic and modern. We will dive into the Word of God, engage in prayer, and encourage one another to display Christ in our everyday lives.

So come. Ask questions. Learn at your own pace. We believe you’ll find what you’re looking for. You’ll learn how to relate to God. You’ll find Christian community as we seek God together.

Come as you are!

do you have options for kids?

Yes! At Southway we offer several opportunities for children to learn and grow in their faith.

First, during the Sunday Bible Study Hour, we have classes for children and youth ages 4-18. These classes are grouped by ages 4-6, 7-10, 11-13, and 14-18.

Next, during our 11 a.m. Worship Service, we offer Children’s Church for all kids ages 4-8.

We also provide Nursery Service for parents with children ages 0-3 during both Worship Services and the Sunday Bible Study Hour.

There are also yearly events for children at Southway! These include our Summer Vacation Bible School, Christmas Concerts, Family Movie Nights, and more!

What is there to do at Southway outside of Sunday morning?

Here at Southway we firmly believe that our worship is meant to continue beyond our Sunday Morning Services. That is why we provide a number of opportunities for fellowship and service during the week.

First, there are our weekly Small Group gatherings. These groups are an excellent opportunity for growing closer to God and our fellow believers. Hosted at the homes of Southway members, these groups typically involve a time of fellowship, prayer, and learning.

Next, we regularly have church-wide opportunities for worship and learning. These include family dinners, prayer gatherings, apologetics seminars, Financial Peace University, and more!

Finally, we are committed to providing opportunities for our members to serve others. These include our partnership with 1000 Hills Ministry to share the love of Christ with Houston’s homeless: Church Under the Bridge, as well as community outreach events like The Big Give and our Easter Block Party.
