What is a faith promise?
A faith promise is an agreement we make with God to give to missions. It’s a promise because of the commitment to provide a certain amount over a specific time period (usually a year) for missions. It requires faith because we are trusting God to provide these funds in various ways.

Giving to missions requires us to agree with God that all the people-groups (nations) of the world must believe and obey Jesus Christ. Faith promise is believing that God’s resources are unlimited and that He wants to give toward this global project through His children. So, when we give, we are giving from God’s unlimited resources since everything we have and receive is from His hand.

Making a faith promise requires risk or it wouldn’t be faith. If we only give the money which falls out of the sky, we risk nothing and our obligation to give is nil. Real faith promise giving is to commit what we have, knowing that God will supply what is lacking. This often involves sacrifice and trusting God to provide our needs day by day.

Faith promise is a personal commitment we make to God to give to His cause on a regular basis. We are making ourselves available to Him as a channel of supply for world evangelization. And we know from the start that it will cost us to do it.

There's more... Just ask any church leader or staff for the full story on Faith Promise Giving. We have a simple to read, but in-depth flyer on this subject. It works at Southway!
